Moroccan women

Forming the north-western shoulder of Africa, Morocco’s 1,200-mile eastern coast is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, while its 200-mile northern coast hugs the Mediterranean Sea. The northern-most point of the country reaches up to almost kiss Europe’s southern extremity at Spain’s Algeciras – the two continents here separated by the Strait of Gibraltar.

Ok, so now we know where we are, what about the Moroccan women?

After centuries of being granted just three basic ‘codes’ – the right to live, the right to be respected as a mother, and the right to work – the females of this Muslim country have ventured a long way from their subservient past to become valued as equals - more or less.

Although they will probably wear a headscarf, most of these beautiful Moroccan women don’t wear the traditional all-encompassing veil, especially in the larger cities.

It is also becoming the norm for women to be seen sitting in mixed-sex locations, such as coffee shops and restaurants, although this happy pastime is perhaps still seen as not permissible in rural areas. Morocco is a Muslim country and it’s a good idea to follow the strict etiquette laid down by this religion.

What is the typical stereotype of a Moroccan women?

Because of the nature of the religious customs of this country, this particular question is always difficult to answer. The strict Muslim code, however, is perhaps not as closely followed as in other Muslim countries, such as those of the Middle East.

As a whole, Moroccan women are very friendly and tolerant of other religions. Friends and relatives will usually be invited into one anothers homes, rather than meeting in a restaurant or café. This is because it’s easier for males and females to relax together in the privacy of a house – what takes place in the home is unknown to the outside world.

  1. Moroccan women, sun-tanned, tall and slim, are excellent home makers. Their love of the family and knowledge of how to care for their menfolk, make them extremely attractive to guys from all over the world.
  2. Up-to-date with the latest fashions, especially in the larger cities such as Rabat, Fez, Tanger, Casablanca, Meknes and Marrakech, these ladies know how to dress to the best advantage. Although the Muslim code regarding parts of the body that must be hidden from sight, in the more cosmopolitan areas of the above cities your eyes will be delighted with the females on view.
  3. Trained in the art of cuisine from an early age, the women and girls of this stunning country are expert in the kitchen. Using a wide variety of herbs and spices, your partner will tantalise your taste buds and keep your dietary needs well-satisfied.
  4. Moroccan women are also well-versed in the arts of love, a well-practised tradition handed down from mother to daughter. Your adventurous angel will happily engage in all your wildest fantasies. Enjoy!
  5. Probably as a result of the ancient curse of living within a male-dominant society, the Moroccan women will be intuitive about her place in the home. Yep, she’ll love you and look after you as though you were a king, but she’ll also be strong and independent. No fooling, when it’s time to draw the line, you will be put firmly in your place.

Things not to do in Morocco

  • Remember where you are. Remember this is a country with Muslim religion, where codes of conduct are somewhat different to those you may be used to.
  • Take note of what the locals are wearing, and try to follow suit. For the male, trousers and a shirt are in good order and, for women, it’s advisable to cover most of the body and wear a headscarf, especially outside the busy areas of modern cities – as listed above.
  • Don’t kiss and cuddle on main street, or anyway within sight of ordinary citizens. This is a definite no-no, something that is not tolerated. Leave the touchy, feely, holding hands and kissing until you are invited into someone’s home.
  • Probably best not to discuss politics, religion or sex, especially on a first meeting, second meeting, third meeting – or at all, until you actually understand your partner and her views on these emotional topics.
  • Eye contact is not a good idea, especially between the sexes. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t look at a beautiful woman – of which there are many – but any staring should definitely not take place, even if the most beautiful girl you have ever seen is looking your way. Try a slight inclination of the head, maybe towards an nearby street café, to engineer a meeting at a busy location where you’ll be able to mutter a muted ‘Hello.’
  • As in most situations, show respect for the people and their culture. Be polite and honest, smile, and be a gentleman. If you’ve been on the beach, cover up and put on appropriate clothing before heading out for dinner. Beach bums won’t be welcome.

What about food in Morocco?

Tasty, tasty, very tasty. The best-known dishes are couscous and the tajine, a stew comprised of various meats accompanied by potatoes and fruits such as raisins, apricots and grapes. Olives, oranges and lemons are also widely used in a variety of dishes. Bread, made from a type of semolina, is served with almost all meals, and mint tea, sweetened with lashings of sugar, is universal throughout the country.

Ways in which to meet the stunning Moroccan women.

  1. Although not easy, face-to-face is nearly always the best way to meet new people. Sandwiched between the Atlantic and the Sahara Desert, Morocco is a fascinating country, full of friendly, gorgeous women and girls.
  2. While the Muslim religion is very restrictive, the Moroccan way-of-life is a little less pressurised into following the definitive codes, especially in the populous city centres which are more accommodating to the more generous standards of other nations.
  3. While it’s perhaps not a good idea to step up to a Moroccan female and straight up ask her out on a date, it may be possible to attach yourself to a group of young people and slowly, slowly approach the girl who caught your eye. Most Moroccans speak French, and some speak English, and if your keep your words simple there should be no complications.
  4. A nod and a smile may be all it takes to gain acceptance to a circle of friends, and then you can start making enquiries about the attractive woman who caught your attention in the first place.
  5. Remember the above advice about being respectful. Be courteous and wear smart but casual clothes. Good manners maketh man, as they say, and it’s always a great idea to be polite when meeting strangers.

And then there’s the Internet.

Yes – and then there’s the Internet. Perhaps the easiest way to meet people from different parts of the globe, the Internet allows you to view a wide selection of hopeful, like-minded people, before actually travelling to the country to meet them in person.

Why not join an international or interracial dating service, such as International Love and eHarmony, where you can meet single people from all parts of the world who are looking for someone like YOU. Having chosen your service, you should sign in and accept the Privacy Policy. You’ll then have to create your dating profile, which should include information about yourself and also give some idea of the sort of person you’re looking for. At any given moment there are literally thousands of people searching through these profiles, and it’s therefore very important for your profile to be created in such a way as to stand out from the rest and attract the attention of others. However, don’t write too much – no one wants to read an essay. A few lines should be enough, but make sure they are short and catchy, enough to tell the world who you are and what you want. You can also add a photo, or two. Again, these should be the genuine article, not a photo-shopped version of a super hero.

Remember, on the day of the BIG MEET your prospective partner will expect to see the same person they fell in love with when they read your dating site profile.

Whatever you do, do it well – and enjoy.
